Chapter 104 Guild Master Caleb
While Arthur was looking at Caleb calmly, the man was surprised by it.
"You could tell my level?" Caleb tried to keep his cool.
"I can indeed." Arthur replied as a screen invisible to others floated in front of him.

Arthur merely had to take a look at the information he obtained from using Dragon\'s Insight to confirm everything. Of course, he had known that Caleb was the Guild Master beforehand but taking a look at the information was interesting to him.
\'I didn\'t know his level would be this high.\' Arthur had just known about the man\'s identity but not about his level.
Normally he should have not been able to see such information but with a legendary appraisal skill like Dragon\'s Insight, it was a simple task.
"Hmm… seems like you are far more capable than others." Caleb said after hearing Arthur\'s words.
"Perhaps." Arthur replied. "But I could say the same for you. Why would a capable person like you would be working as a front desk clerk?" he asked.
Caleb thought whether to answer Arthur or not, but then reckoned he might as well.
"If you\'ve come to meet the Guard Captain, I reckon it is due to something related to the security of the village, isn\'t it?" Caleb questioned first.
"Yes. Bandits in particular." Arthur answered.
"My reasoning is similar." Caleb replied. "We are having something of a shortage of people here." He stated.
"A shortage of adventurers?" Arthur raised a brow.
"Indeed." Caleb nodded his head. "There have been several concerning incidents happening recently. Bandits have been appearing more than usual, and strange beasts have been seen as well." He answered.
Arthur could understand the appearance of bandits, as that was something which was a concern even in his past life.
\'If I recall correctly, even when the players had first arrived in Roran town, Bandits were still a bit problem.\' Arthur remembered before asking something. "What kind of strange beasts?"
"Several types… Some are normal beasts that are behaving strangely. These are the majority, but there are also some mutants among them." Caleb replied.
"Huh… By strangely do you mean… they are acting aggressively and insane?" Arthur inquired.
"Yeah… how did you know?" Caleb asked feeling surprised once more.
"Seems like Roran town isn\'t the only place facing this issue." Arthur replied, a bit of confusion appearing on his face.
\'Wasn\'t the insanity in the beasts caused due to the fragment of Iltan? Did the effects reach this far?\' Arthur wondered.
Zaddreus had told him about the effects of the fragment, but now he was finding stuff to be different.
\'Wait… Caleb said they are mutating too. Something else could be a factor in this.\' Arthur reckoned.
There were several thoughts in his mind, but he knew he needed to confirm them first.
"Kestrel Village is seeing them too?" Caleb questioned.
"Yes. I\'ve already killed a few." Arthur answered. "But why would you be forced to work as a clerk though? Even with the shortage, anyone with some administrative skill could do this." He was still not convinced.
"I\'m doing this, because I\'m the only one who would be able to recognize the disguised individuals." Caleb finally answered. "Some of the bandits have tried to sneak in that way."
"Huh, they are that daring?" Arthur was rather surprised.
"I don\'t know where they are getting the guts to do this from." Caleb stated. "The guard captain has already killed a few and made an example of them. You can still see their heads being hung outside the main gate." He added.
"Guess that is not enough for them." Arthur replied. "It just means I need to hurry up in my meeting with the Guard Captain."
"Yeah, it is best to do that." Caleb said before writing something on the register. "I\'ve added you to the guild officially." He said before handing Arthur a small metal plate the size of a credit card.
"That will serve as your official guild ID and will be recognized all over the adventurer guilds." Caleb explained. "You just need to bind it to you. Hold it in your hand for a few seconds, it\'ll draw your mana and do it automatically."
"I see…" While Arthur knew how it worked, he still let the man speak.
He quickly took the metal plate and felt a slight drain on his mana. It was strange as how he could feel an energy like this when it didn\'t exist in his own world.
It came innately to him too. Many players would be baffled by it for a long time. Especially the new players who didn\'t know what that feeling was. Those that got sensitive to it would feel the waves of mana from other NPCs too.
>Player Arzhur has become an official adventurer!<
The notification popped up when the task was done, and the metal plate changed. A few words appeared on it magically, showing information about Arthur.
~Ding~
——
Name: Arzhur
Adventurer Rank: F
——
It was very basic and didn\'t show anything extra.
"Keep that card with you. If you lose it, you will have to pay to get it replaced." Caleb replied.
"Don\'t the cards also have a binding magic on them that prevents them from getting lost or stolen?" Arthur asked.
"Huh, you know that too." Caleb said raising a brow. "That is indeed true. But that will only be for adventurers of Rank C and above. Though you can get the card enchanted for a price, too." He added.
"I\'ll get that too then."Arthur replied.
"You sure? It costs 10 silvers." Caleb asked.
"Yeah, no problem." Arthur replied and handed the coins.
"Very well… lemme get the equipment." Caleb said before going to the back.
He returned after a couple of minutes with a square box in his hands.
"Insert the card in the side and place your hand on the imprint on top." He instructed.
