Chapter 146 Felicia Martel
Hearing her name from the stranger\'s mouth surprised Felicia.
"You know me?" She couldn\'t help but ask.
Knowing that it would be strange for him to know her, especially considering her tendency to hide for the most part, Arthur knew he had to be careful with his words.
"Ah yes, I\'ve heard of you from the Property Manager Johan." Arthur replied.
It was now that the concierge also approached them.
"This is Mister Arthur Grey, Miss Felicia. He\'s the new tenant." The concierge introduced him.
Hearing that, an expression of realization appeared on Felicia\'s face.
"I see, so that\'s you," Felicia responded. "Though why did Johan tell you about me?" she still asked.
"I was impressed by the decor and design of the apartments, Miss Felicia. That led Mister Johan to tell me that this was all personally done by you." Arthur gave a reasonable explanation, which was also true.
A slight change in expression could be seen, as Felicia was internally pleased by the praise.
"Since you\'re here, I must say your work is excellent." Arthur decided to try and show a good impression of himself. "Your talents are worthy of the Martel name."
"I thank you for the kind words," Felicia said in a calm voice.
"Of course. It is just facts." Arthur replied before standing up. "I hope you have a good day. I\'ll get going, I still need to set up my apartment since I just moved in." He added.
Arthur picked up the bags and started moving toward the elevator. But just when the door opened, he saw that Felicia had approached him as well.
"I\'ll be going up as well," Felicia replied.
"Sure," Arthur pressed the 19th floor button before moving aside.
Felicia too pressed a button that was at the very top.
"Are you visiting a friend?" Arthur asked curiously, since it was the 20th floor.
"No." Felicia shook her head. "I work here."
"Work?" Arthur raised his brows in surprise. "You have an office here?"
"Something of that sort…" Felicia didn\'t give an exact answer.
Hearing this, an idea appeared in Arthur\'s mind.
"Miss Felicia, have you heard about Morpheus Online?" Arthur suddenly asked.
"Yes, the new VR game. It\'s everywhere on the news." Felicia replied, a hint of confusion on her face as to why Arthur asked her this.
"Have you thought about trying to play it?" Arthur asked next. "It is a life changing experience for sure. I even heard that some artists are using it as a source of inspiration. There are places that you can never see in our world." He spoke.
"Is that so?" Felicia seemed to be intrigued after hearing that. \'Is it finally time to boot up that Dream Pod? It\'s been lying in the workshop since being delivered.\' She thought internally.
"Indeed. I\'ve tried it myself too. It is unlike anything." Arthur replied.
"I\'ll think about it." Felicia said before the ring of the elevator was heard.
~DING~
>19th Floor<
"Ah, this is my floor." Arthur said before leaving the elevator. "I hope to see you again. Goodbye." He bid her farewell as the door closed.
With Arthur gone, Felicia had a look of amusement on her face.
"He was surprisingly fine talking to me… most think twice after knowing about my name," Felicia muttered to herself.
Being one of the daughters of the Martel Family, there was no lack of people wanting to make a connection with her. But at the same time, it also made the others calculative and they would think a lot before talking to her.
This combined with her cold persona before the media made it so that most thought of her as reserved and not one to be messed with. The latter of which was also true.
"Morpheus Online though… Guess I may as well try. I\'ve finished the design work on all the buildings by now. I need some excuse to stay away from the central anyways…" Felicia muttered to herself, having made a decision.
Arthur didn\'t know that his attempt at nudging Felicia to start playing the game had actually worked.
He knew the potential she had and how valuable of a player she could be in a party. While he didn\'t know if she would be willing to party up with him right away, he could at least start to turn the odds towards his side.
"Sigh~ As long as she starts playing the game, she should become useful." Arthur let out a sigh while setting down the things he had bought.
He sorted the groceries into the right shelves and put away the new clothes in the wardrobe.
There were still a few hours left till log in time, thus Arthur spent it doing some searches as well as noting down his findings. All of it was game related, as he wanted to know how others were finding the game. After all, from what he had seen so far, there were changes happening in the game that were different than his previous life.
Some of the changes were a bit simple to understand, such as events happening earlier than they originally had.
Then there were some things that were entirely new, which left Arthur at a loss. Thus, he needed to know about them and try to learn more about them as much as possible.
He made use of all the sources that were at his disposal.
He scoured the forums as well as small news articles. He checked game journaling sites and random rumors that were present on social media about the game. Even if it was something that was quite likely to be false, Arthur still took note of it.
In fact, in a lot of rumors, he actually found a few that were accurate since he knew about them.
Some of the rumors were related to NPC\'s or random conversations that the players had heard in the game. Then there were some that were related to quests or locations.
In all that, there was a particular one that caught Arthur\'s attention.
