Chapter 365 365: Humans Vs Elves IV
The soldiers all had horrified looks on their faces as they saw the carnage Cole had left behind. In front of absolute power, it did not matter if you were a tree, or a building or an elf. Everything was swept up together and the an area 50 meters in front of Cole was cleared of elf, tree and buildings. The carnage was good enough for the fact that it finally let some sunlight shine down onto the streets.
"Well now that we\'ve gotten that out of the way, I think we should push forwards, as that noise would have definitely dragged the attention of quite a few of them. Or would you rather want to hold your ground here? Which I think is a fantastic idea because each and every single one of you is a liability. It\'s just not smart having to look over my shoulders every time. You guys should stay here or go back, I think from here onwards I\'ll be going by myself." Cole said to them as he turned around to leave.
"No wait here just a min-" but there was no one there again as Cole had already vanished, leaving his burdens behind.
Cole was being logical, and just to prove that point he had sent a message to Eze too, telling him it was better if he ditched his own group of soldiers, and they would slow him down. Cole was working on a clock here, he had to be in the third floor as soon as possible to deal with the trouble of the northern glade.
But he would not be able to do so until he deals with these elves and their dungeon. Though if turns there\'s not much of a challenge then either he or Eze would have to rush back to Raen Valley. They were the two strongest aspirants, though of course the valley was filed with crouching tigers and hidden dragons.
Among the Denizens the Phoenixborns could cause a significant amount of damage, not to mention Arch-Mage Peronico Porins. And the worst of them all…..Delarosa. The territory was in safe hands if they had to defend it. But to take the initiative, to be the vanguard that would deal with whatever plans or machinations the northern glade would come up with, either him or Eze had to be there.
Cole went past a particularly large root and had to bring all his momentum to a halt by stabbing the butt of his spear into the ground. The spear dug furrows into the tarmac, as Cole slide back, his eyes following the great sword that was heading for his neck from the side.
A root stabbed out of the ground, intercepting the swing of the great sword. But it was as if nothing could stand up against this sword, as the blade sliced through all of the roots, it\'s course uncorrected as it aimed to split Cole\'s head from the rest of his body. [Gravity] was used, except it experienced a lot of resistance, Cole was definitely fighting someone at the peak of the gold rank, perhaps even more at the peak than Cole himself.
But resistance or not [Gravity] was still able to completely deflect the strike from the sword as it was redirected upwards. The e,f that had attacked widened her eyes in shock, almost as if she never expected that Cole would be able to stop her attack. Cole was still crouched low as he planted his feet and used [Spectral Rover] making it seem as if his body had teleported forwards to smash his shoulder into the elf\'s midriff.
The elf grunted in pain as she was blasted backwards. But she too stabbed her sword down into the earth, uprooting an entire moss covered pavement in the process. Cole stood up and twirled his spear before crouching down and pointing it towards her using his left hand.
The spear shrunk until it was just under the size of a dagger, then Cole stretched his other hand backwards as Black Malakai appeared in it, primed and ready to go as Cole fell into the [Black Demon Swordsmanship] stance with the ease and familiarity of a master.
"I never thought there would such a person in this world. You have my respects warrior, but I advise you to turn back now….you will not survive an encounter with me." the elf said as she too took a stance, her sword raised high into the air as if she was about to bring it down in a cleaving strike.
"The last elf to tell me that is dead. And I don\'t need you respects, you might think its important but to me it is not. After all…..the dead have no respects to give." Cole said with a Sneer on his face as his energy blazed out of his body, creating a small haze around his body.
"I see…. well then, I guess that there\'s not hing left to say. Come let us fight and wet out blades in the blood of the other…. it would be a most magnificent battle." from her impromptu speech all Cole could really say back to her was.
"You talk to damn much."
