Chapter 240: Clash
240 Clash
Anna and the rest nodded their heads. "Understood."
After another thirty minutes, Alex could see many people were coming out of the town. He also saw a few old men that seemed to be discussing something on the top of the city wall. They seemed to be the important people, Alex thought.
After another few minutes, Alex finally saw a few flying beasts. After he found the flying monsters, he activated his Spirit Eyes. He could see numerous signs of energy. Alex took a deep breath. Alex only found Foundation Stage Monsters and Master Stage monsters at front.
"Nelson, how is it in your end?" Alex asked before the battle started.
"I haven\'t found the leader. But, I have a general idea about where the leader is. I will proceed carefully since I feel the monster should be a Grandmaster Stage monster. I hope Young Master forgives me."
"Just take as long as you need. Just be careful since we might be too busy to recall you when something happened." Alex said.
"Understood."
Alex took out his mask. Song Yu had found out his identity with this mask, while Putri and Evelyn knew about Anna. Fortunately, they were the only one that knew it was him. Alex looked at Anna\'s and the rest\'s expression. They looked at him seriously, signaling him they were ready.
Alex looked at the people in front of the wall. The monsters finally reached the town. When the people of the town saw the number of the monsters, They gulped down and started clenching their weapon. They managed to gather around a thousand fighters from the town. Their cultivations were similar to the monsters, mostly in Foundation Stage and Master Stage. Fortunately, the Master Stage was more than the Foundation Stage.
Alex could see everything from the cliff. The flying monster, the tense face of people from Onsul Town, The charging beast. Alex could see it all.
When the beast almost reached the town. Alex raised his eyebrows as he was confused. The town seemed to be only defending from a direction. If it was like that, the beast might surround them from the other side. It was a foolish strategy, he thought.
Alex could get his answer not long after his doubt. He could see two groups of people suddenly positioned themselves on a certain angle. As soon as they raised their hands, the ground started to rise and make a tall wall.
Alex could see two tall and wide walls rose from the ground. Alex\'s eyes brightened as he thought of something. The wall made the shape of \'V\' with the town as the center. Its purpose was to direct the monsters to charge toward only a single direction. He had seen this strategy back in the lower world.
As long as they rid the flying beast, there won\'t be any land monsters that will surround the city except head on. Alex had forgotten about the fact that the beast actually was not that smart. Sherry was an exception. The land monsters followed the direction of the wall without destroying it. After they saw humans in their way, they immediately charged at them madly. Because of the wall, their instinct told them to follow it and charged toward the humans in front of them.
Luckily, the wall didn\'t block his vision. With this, his plan was rendered to be useless as the monster wouldn\'t come to his direction. After the monsters started charging toward the people from Onsul Town. Around a hundred people suddenly flew toward them.
They were bombarding them from the sky. There were another two hundred people that also released their element from behind. It was the first clash.
Alex immediately pointed out at the city wall. Seeing their plan had become useless. He immediately came up with another plan. He was planning to join the battle from the city wall.
"We are moving to the city wall. Let\'s go." Alex stated while putting on his mask.
Anna covered her face with a veil. Leoz and Fabio nodded their heads while Sherry sat to Anna\'s head. They flew toward the city wall.
When they reached the city wall, the people immediately noticed them. They pointed out at them, especially when they found Sherry\'s on Anna\'s head.
"Monster!"
"Who are you?"
Alex took out a Core Disciple Token. It was given to him since the sect master had raised his status to a Core Disciple. Charya gave it to him a week after the tournament.
"You are a Core Disciple of Heavenly Sword Sect!" They immediately recognized the token.
With Alex\'s mask, they couldn\'t see Alex\'s cultivation. They could only see and the others. All of them were Martial Grandmasters, except Fabio. Since they couldn\'t see Alex\'s cultivation, they thought he was indeed a Martial Lord, befitting a Core Disciple of Heavenly Sword Sect.
But, it was different for the City Lord, who was also a Martial Lord. He couldn\'t see Alex\'s cultivation. He suddenly sweatdropped when he couldn\'t even see through Alex. They immediately rejoiced when they saw a Core Disciple of Heavenly Sword Sect with them.
"I am here to help. Seeing the monsters want to rampage on one of our towns, how can I not help..." Alex said with a sentiment like he was a righteous person.
When the high ranking people heard that, they rejoiced. Since they would get another help from a Martial Lord, their chance in killing all these monsters had increased.
The people on the city wall were Patriarchs or elders from a family. Whatever their schemes, it wouldn\'t be good if they got destroyed in this battle.
An aged man suddenly came to the front. He had spiky white hair, and his eyes seemed to hold many schemes. But Alex also noticed there was a trace of fear inside his eyes. It appeared the Core Disciple Token that he accepted without thinking, brought him yet another situation that he could take advantage of.
"I am the City Lord of this Onsul Town. My name is Albus. We are honored if a Core Disciple will help us in this ordeal. On behalf of Onsul Town, I would like to say thank you for your help, Sire. This might be presumptuous, but may I ask Sire\'s name?"
"Sure, I will help as much as possible. As for my name... you don\'t need to know." Alex nodded his head. Inside, he was cursing at this old fox. \'What the heck, you sly old man. You don\'t even send a messenger or something to request some help from another town, and you are thanking me? Ptui, after I killed them and took my Gacha Tickets and EXPs, I will just go!\'
"How about Sire took the leadership? I\'m sure it will increase morale. with a Heavenly Sword Sect\'s Core Disciple take the lead, I am sure they will be energized." The City Lord said.
Alex\'s eyebrows twitched behind his mask. He was fuming with rage from dealing with this kind of person. Alex turned his head and looked at the fully armored man that seemed to be the leader for this operation. Alex shook his head.
"I\'m just a disciple from Heavenly Sword Sect. I can kill, but I can\'t lead many people. I\'m sure City Lord has entrusted your people to the right person over there. He should be able to lead the people and minimize the loss." Alex rejected him. "I and the others will help you as a special team. So, you don\'t need to worry about us."
The City Lord looked at him, mysteriously. He said, "Then, if Sire needs anything, just call any of us here."
Alex nodded and made a distance from them. His Spirits and Sherry kept their silence. Alex looked at the battlefield. The humans killed the monsters pretty quickly. They managed to kill around a thousand in a few minutes.
Well, considering the monsters were only Foundation Stage or Master Stage. They should be able to deal with it pretty easily. The battle would become harder and harder from now on. According to Nelson, there would be around two thousand Grandmaster Stage Monsters.
He wondered what kind of plan they had to be this confident. Most people had yet to move because the monsters had yet reached them as the bombardment was effective.
"Leoz, Anna, and Sherry will go when those people started charging toward those monsters. Fabio will stay here from the time being." Alex said.
"Understood (Wuu)." All of them answered.
Alex took out his spear. Looking at the spear, he finally came up with Fabio\'s role. "Fabio, I will kill them with my Spear Throwing. Later, you will go to the battlefield and kill those monsters while recovering my spear."
Fabio nodded. Alex expected Fabio to reach Martial Grandmaster in this battle.
After another two minutes, it seemed the bombardment had stopped. Those people started recovering their energy on the rear. At that time, the captain, who was in his body armor, shouted. "People of Onsul Town, Charge!"
"Kill!"
The clash between monsters and humans had started. Alex raised his spear and threw it. He didn\'t forget to add his strength with \'Immovable Step\'. With his raw strength now, it would become a significant impact on them. It was for the sake of first impression.
"Spear Throwing Art. Power Throwing."
To kill more effectively, he used Power Throwing. The moment his spear reached its target, it immediately destroyed the monster. It was powerful and managed to create a strong shock wave, capable of killing a few others.
[EXP+ 1000]
[EXP+ 500]
[EXP+ 300]
[Gacha Ticket x1]
...
Alex threw his spear to an area without any people. Alex considered a few reasons for that. First, the people from Onsul Town might mistake his spear and grab it for themself. Second, Anna and the rest can start from there. With no people there, they could maximize their killing rate, thus gathering his EXPs and Gacha Tickets.
"Go."
The rest knew where they needed to go even without him saying where to go. All of them immediately flew toward that place, including Fabio. Alex had around twenty rank 2 spears.
The high ranking people on the side were shocked by him. With a single spear from this far, Alex could kill more than ten monsters. \'They couldn\'t do it\', that was their thought when they saw the spear. It was practically true for the City Lord, who was a Martial Lord.
Although the monsters were indeed not very strong, to think Alex could send an attack from this far and the power was still strong. At least, he couldn\'t do it. Of course, half of it was contributed in his raw strength that far from normal and his Spear Throwing Art.
...
Leoz was the first one that arrived on the scene. He threw himself in the center of the monsters and started killing. Monsters there immediately noticed him and started charging toward him.
"Haha, come at me!" Despite being surrounded by monsters, Leoz was grinning happily. As expected from a muscle brain.
Even so, around fifty monsters ignored him and continued charging toward the town. They were situated in front so they might not notice him, or they really ignored him.
Unfortunately, in their front, Anna and co had arrived. Anna shook her head and criticized, "This is why I hate Muscle Brain. Can\'t he see that there are still monsters here? Luckily, I am here."
"Wuu!" Sherry nodded her head in agreement. Then, she raised her paws as thirty firebirds appeared above her head. Now that she had become a Grandmaster Stage Spirit Beast, she could summon thirty firebirds at once from her original twenty.
The firebirds killed the monsters in front of them.
"Boom! Boom!"
There were still a few left that managed to escape from those explosions. Anna also raised her hand to the front. A black ball suddenly appeared on her hand. The ball suddenly formed a big scythe. It was her weapon. She started killing the rest.
Fabio also made his way to Alex\'s spear. With the monsters had been distracted by Leoz and the rest of the monsters had been killed by Anna and Sherry, Fabio had room to move. He grabbed Alex\'s spear and carried it on his back.
He took out his glaive as he noticed another spear was coming toward the monsters.
"15." A voice rang on his head, saying a certain number. He recognized the voice as it was Alex\'s voice. He looked at Alex and nodded. He understood the meaning of the number. Alex wanted him to come back every fifteen spear and gave it back to him. Within that time, he could go on a rampage and kill.
