Chapter 73 - The Gods Treasures
Chapter 73 - The God\'s Treasures
“We broke through the seventh array formation recently, thanks to the Lord of Xian Kong City.”
The manager led Zhong Yue and the others into the seventh array formation in the volcano and he showed his admiration to the of Xian Kong City while he said, “The current generation Lord of Xian Kong City is the strongest among all the previous lords of Xian Kong City. He is incredibly smart and powerful! Unfortunately, he too suffered heavy injuries as he broke through the seventh array formation and had to seclude himself and recover his injuries. If he hadn’t suffered any injuries, both the Lords of Sulphur Island and Jin Xiu Island wouldn’t suffer heavy injuries and get hunted by the four young disciples of the Swords Gate.”
Zhong Yue’s heart became heavy and asked, “The Lord of Xian Kong City neutralized the seventh array formation single-handedly?”
“Not really, many died at this seventh array formation as well.”
The manager replied, “The fact of the Xian Cong City Lord managing to neutralize the array formation was in large part due to the efforts of his predecessors in greatly weakening its power. For your information, previously, even if someone had managed to neutralize the array formations, they would not be able to pull it off unscathed. Any headway they would have made would have undoubtedly come at a great cost or even death. . Just by being able to retreat alive was already a huge achievement by the Xiang Kong City Lord! The crucial part is that the Xian Kong City Lord is still at the prime of his life, and his strength is still constantly improving, I would not be surprised if he breaks through to become a monster god in the future!”
Zhong Yue’s expression became a little bit serious as soon as he heard what the manager said. The current headmaster of Swords Gate was already at the twilight of his life whereas the lord of Xian Kong City is still in his middle age. The situation appeared to be very dire to the future of Swords Gate and the Great Wilderness.
“We Swords Gate are facing a great threat from the outside while we still have great problems among ourselves, making the situation even worse now. The four young aces of Swords Gate have not reached the extent where they could support the entire Swords Gate and some in the Swords Gate have even colluded with the Tian Myriad Mother to topple the peace we worked so hard to maintain. Now, with the addition of this incredible Xian Kong City Lord, do the heavens really want to annihilate the humans in the Great Wilderness?”
“The eighth array formation has yet to be neutralized and the battlefield with the four young aces of Swords Gate is also here!
The manager led Zhong Yue and the others into the eight layer of array formation and Zhong Yue could feel a myriad of immense auras emitted by many different strong individuals. There were actually hundreds of strong monsters in the eight array formation!
The eighth layer of the array formation was incredibly spacious, which made it an ideal stage for a dual. The strengths of the four young aces of Swords Gate or the young aces of the monster\'s race were all incredible, the Gu Xia City would suffer heavy losses if they had a duel outside of the volcano.
However, if they fought here, whatever damage they caused would only be inflicted on the array formation, thus, further weakening the power of the array formation at the same time. This would not only bring no harm to the monsters, it would also hasten their process of neutralizing the eight array formation!
Gu Hongzi, the Lord of Gu Xia City, was really smart in his machinations. He may be still young but he has already shown signs that he would become an ambitious and ruthless figure in the future.
Zhong Yue quickly understood the plans of this Gu Hongzi and thought in his mind, He must be plotting something more when he invited the four young aces of Swords Gate to have a duel here. It seems like he not only wants to wipe off their existence, he was also planning to test the full power of the eighth layer of array formation by using them.
Although he yet to meet Gu Hongzi, the man’s formidability was already indelibly imprinted onto his mind… If this man continued to improve, he would definitely become a formidable foe in the future.
Moreover, as to what Hu Wensheng, Bai XIushi and the others had said, this Gu Hongzi was already a bona fide genius even during his youth. His position in the heart of the Xian Kong City Lord could be seen when he was bequeathed the title of Lord of Gu Xia City!
Zhong Yue frowned again and thought, So why did Fang Jiange, Feng Wuji and the others still show up when they knew this was a trap?
He did not know much about the others but he had had a glimpse of the strength of Fang Jiange during the time in the Demon Ruins. His strength had reached heights of which Zhong Yue had never seen.
Being able to enter the Demon Ruins alone and cut down the Tian Myriad Mother with one strike while her spirit had yet to fully recover. From the point of view of Zhong Yue, Fang Jiange was a man of strength and wisdom, not quite like the likes of reckless fools.
Could it be that they are certain that they could retreat unharmed? Zhong Yue thought.
The airspace in the eight layer of the array formation was even bigger than the previous layers, Below the mushroom-shaped cliffs were volcanic columns. When Zhong Yue and the others arrived at this point, they saw fire sparks randomly appearing as well as blazing fires raging in the air. Together, these flames formed huge and alluring totem carvings that appeared to contain an indescribable intricacy at the same time.
These carvings were god carvings, complicated and advanced. Once they were formed, fiery dragons could be seen among the totem carvings fleetingly before disappearing.
Each of the dragons emanated immense auras like real dragons. The draconic auras were so powerful that such auras could only be felt on the unrealistically strong individuals!
When these dragons slithered in the air, their presences were so great that the monsters’ Qi Practitioner were so tiny as compared to the dragons.
Hu——
A fiery dragon suddenly appeared on the cliff where Zhong Yue and the others were standing. The huge body of this fiery dragon slowly slithered on the cliff and created fire sparks so hot that it could melt the rocks into lava when its scales rubbed on the ground.
Zhong Yue, Hu Wensheng, the manager and the others stood on the cliff and looked at the fiery dragons. Each and every single scale of this dragon was even bigger than all of them and were as smooth as a mirror.
Bai Xiushi and the others were already sitting on the ground from the pressure exerted by the aura of the dragons. As monsters, the draconic aura and the draconic bloodlines naturally had an overwhelmingly dominating power over them.
Zhong Yue however, did not bother much about the draconic aura and he was looking at the environment. He saw the cliffs were connected through ropeways and all of these may be a result of the Xian Kong City Lord’s attempt to neutralize the array formation here. Among the hundred and eight slaughtering arrays and mushroom-shaped cliffs, there were five of them that were connected with ropeways, indicating that he had neutralized about five slaughtering arrays.
On the fourth cliff, was a huge tortoise whose size occupied the entire cliff. That tortoise was Fang Jiange’s ride, while atop the other three cliffs stood the monsters who were there to spectate the battle.
On the fifth cliff, Zhong Yue saw the four aces of Swords Gate and the remarkable young individuals of the monsters.
Out of their expectation, there wasn’t any fierce battle or bloodshed, instead, Fang Jiange and the others were conversing happily with the remarkable young monsters disciples.
On top of the fifth cliff, there were also bright rays and colorful lights. When looked at from a distance, the top of the fifth cliff looked like the venue of a festival instead of a battle. Amidst the bright rays and colorful lights, there were a few young remarkable individuals of the human and monster race who sat or stood under the cumuliform gazebo.
Among them, Zhong Yue was most familiar with Fang Jiange, who wore his sword at his waist and looking very calm.
There was another man standing in the gazebo, holding a white umbrella over his shoulders, showing a gentle smile on his face while he looked at a girl playing her zither.
The girl looked beautiful and had long fingers. A zither was placed on her knees and as she played the guqin, a beautiful melody could be heard which echoed throughout the volcano before gracefully dispersing.
Behind the girl was a burly man with an incredibly huge body. He was clapping his hands while he sang with a thunderous voice that could make incite the heat in one’s blood.
The man who is tall and huge with the mustache and beard must be Lei Hong from the Lei Hu Clan!
Zhong Yue thought in his mind, The males of the Lei Hu Clan are usually incredibly strong and all grow beards, as if they were all identical twins. The girl on the other side would be Jun Sixie. After all, she is the only female among the four successors of Swords Gate.
He then looked at the man who was holding an umbrella and thought, Then this man should be Feng Wuji from the largest clan in the Great Wilderness, the man who is from the same clan as the headmaster of Swords Gate.
Xing Huo did not say anything and Zhong Yue asked curiously, “Xing Huo, this man is from the Feng Clan, the direct descendants of Fuxi, the pure-blood Fuxi that you were looking for, why aren’t you saying anything?”
“This man is not a pureblood Fuxi, his Fuxi bloodline is just a little bit better than yours. He is not the one I am looking for. The Fuxi pure-bloods are very easily identified, they have the head of a human and the body of a snake, naturally divine and have a god’s eye in their forehead that could see through everything.”
Xing Huo shook his head and said disappointedly, “Feng Clan, the antecedently premier clan during the Fuxi era, the direct bloodline of Fuxi, had also devolved to this extent? Unable to find even one of the pure-blood Fuxi bloodline?”
Hearing his reply, Zhong Yue was a little bit disappointed and yet, relieved. This was because if he really found a pure-blood Fuxi descendant, Xin Huo would abandon him, which Zhong Yue was quite loath to accept as he had developed quite a friendship with this little flame dude during their trials together.
However, he also promised Xin Huo that he would find a pure-blood Fuxi descendant for him. If he couldn’t find one in these a few years, Xin Huo would disappear forever.
The others must be the other young talented monsters Qi Practitioners, the disciples of the Lord of Xian Kong City!
Zhong Yue looked and saw four individuals from the Xian Kong City. They were two males and two females. One of the males were dressed in black while he appeared to be incredibly muscular and tall with fur covering his entire body. He was very similar to Lei Hong in terms of body size.
The other male was very short, about the less than five feet and he was covered in shiny scales that concealed his true form from people.
The other two girls were both very beautiful. One of them effused such an innocent charm that made her appear even more feminine than the human females while the other carried an incredibly sexy and alluring aura. They were both glamorously graceful but they each had a snowy white tail.
“Mr. Long, that is Gu Hongzi, the Lord of Gu Xia City.”
The manager pointed and Zhong Yue looked into that direction, he saw a man of a delicate appearance that quite belied the preconceived notion of one that controlled a huge city, instead, he appeared to be more like a young noble among the humans.
The more polite he appeared to be, the more dangerous he is, Zhong Yue thought.
The manager then said, “The man dressed in black is Lang Qingyun, the first disciple of the Lord of Xian Kong City. The other one is his third disciple, Qiu Qingshan. Among the two girls, the sultry one is the second disciple, Chilian Nu, the innocent-looking one is the fourth disciple, Lian Xin.”
Zhong Yue nodded while he thought, No matter which side won, I still have to enter the teleportation portal located at the bottom to get to the Moon!
After the song was done, the sound of the zither slowly stopped echoing and Gu Hongzi clapped and praised, “Such a good zither, such a beautiful song. The song sang by Senior Martial Brother Lei was magnificent and the melody played by Senior Martial Sister Jun was so graceful! This has made me have a heavy heart towards the prospect of eating you!
Jun Sixie laughed and said, “Senior Martial Brother Gu Hongzi, hand over the Lords of Sulphur Island and Jin Xiu Island, then I’ll let you leave here alive.”
Under the white umbrella, Feng Wuji smiled and said, “Junior Martial Sister Jun, please don’t unilaterally make such a proclamation.”
“Senior Martial Brother Feng, such a murderous desire.”
Gu Hongzi laughed and said, “You are all my guests from the humans, since you are here, you must have a look at the beautiful scenery of our monsterland. There it is, the treasures have arrived again.”
Suddenly, under the bottom of the volcano were shot out cold and shiny bright rays. The rays were quite conspicuous and so bright that even the fiery dragons appeared to be overshadowed by their radiance!
The monster Qi Practitioners looked towards the bottom of the cliff and Feng Wuji and the others also looked down in amazement.
Under the bottom of the volcano, a bright pearl ascended from the deepest part of the bottom. The rays were emitted from this bright pearl and other than that, they could also feel extreme frigidness coming from that pearl as if it could actually freeze up the entire volcano!
The arrays in the volcano were godly arrays that were lethal. Other than that, this volcano was the power source for all the arrays that were set up there so how amazing must the pearl be if the entire volcano was freezing up just from the coldness of the pearl?
“The god’s treasure…”
Beside Zhong Yue, the manager murmured, “They said that the treasure will ascend every night during the full moon and shine brightly.”
That’s because the treasure you are talking about is the Moon, Zhong Yue thought.
