Chapter 236 Staying Over
Seeing that her husband was seriously going to leave her behind, Zhang Xiaoling who was feeling a bit nervous from the extreme action she took, hurriedly got up and turned to leave after nodding at the guests at their table.
She had realized that she had gone too far with her jealousy and stepped out of line only when she was pulled away.
Deep down her heart, she was seriously regretting her action, but the deed has been done. There was no use crying over split milk.
At the car park, Tang Enlai got into the car and told the driver to start the car, without waiting for Zhang Xiaoling to arrive first.
When he was leaving the hall, he didn\'t even bother to turn and see if she was following him because he didn\'t care.
Now with his instruction the chauffeur ignited the car\'s engine and had already clutched on the brake pedal and was about to change from park to reverse when they both saw Zhang Xiaoling\'s figure rushing towards them while shouting for Tan Enlai to stop.
She gathered the length of her gown in one hand while the other held unto her purse while walking as fast as she could with furrowed brows.
Fortunately, Tang Enlai was not so heartless as to leave her when she had almost reached their car, so the driver had to wait till she got in before he continued to drive away from the car park and towards the gate.
If it was before, Zhang Xiaoling would have complained about making her to run on heels, but she didn\'t have any mouth to say anything.
Although she was guilty for embarrassing herself, she was not even sorry to him. But because she didn\'t want him to belittle her in the driver\'s presence, she shut her mouth and three her face to the other side while panting heavily.
Back at the Fang Family\'s hall, the party went on until it came to an end half an hour later.
But before it ended, Zhang Liling ate every food Mr. Fang put in her plate.
As long as he pointed at the food and asked if she wanted to it, he would immediately put it on her plate if she gave a positive response.
As for the sweet deserts, he let her point at the ones she wanted to eat.
Without knowing that the old lady was watching her with a smile, Zhang Liling ate with satisfaction on her face.
After the party had come to an end, Fang Bingwen asked for them to leave, but he was stopped by his old lady.
"Wenwen, you can\'t return to S city today." Old Lady Fang said while staring straight at him.
Thinking that it had something to do with the distance as it was already dark, Mr. Fang quickly explained, "Grandma, there is still time to go back to S city, it\'s not up to an hour drive, so there is no need to worry."
"Who is talking about the security?" Jian Cuifen said with a smile while staring at him. And seeing the confusion on his face, she explained.
"Your grandmother is punishing you for arriving at her party half an hour late. Just stay back."
There was a look of surprise on Zhang Liling\'s face as she stole a quick glance at the man beside her.
She didn\'t seem to understand this kind of punishment of him staying back at the family house because he arrived late.
That was no punishment at all, but thinking of the possibility of Mr. Fang not returning home often given how close the two cities were, she could somehow understand.
Mr. Fang refused to stay back, but after much insistence from the old lady, and his grandfather, he relented.
At the moment, he looked like someone owed him a billion dollars.
With knitted brows and the corner of lips turning downwards, he glanced at Zhang Liling before fixing his gaze back to his grandmother.
"Wait, I will tell Chuanli and Bolin to tell her back." He said and was about getting off his seat when the old lady stopped him again.
"Where are you going? Who said you could Liling back?" She asked with a naughty idea brewing in her old head.
"You want her to stay back as well?" Fang Bingwen asked as the hands on the table slowly relaxed, while his brows remained furrowed as a tinge of confusion flashed across his eyes.
Zhang Liling also looked at her side with a little surprise, but her heart was already swirling with a warm feeling.
In her remind, she had already concluded on his she would endure being apart from Mr. Fang for the entire night up till the next day, but now that there was a chance for them to be in the same space, she could hardly contain her joy.
"Why not? There is nothing wrong with it. You have made this Lady happy by bringing over a grand daughter-in-law, of course I would want to spend time with her a bit."
The Old Lady confirmed as smiling gaze shifted to Zhang Liling. Then taking her hand in hers, her brows arched as she asked gently.
"Liling, do you mind staying over? Don\'t be afraid, this old lady is not going to hurt you."
Zhang Liling hurriedly waved her free hand as the corner of her lips curled.
With eyes brewing with happiness, she replied, "Grandma, I am certainty not scared of you. I will be happy to stay only if you let me."
"Good.. Good." The Old Lady exclaimed with a smile that reached her eyes while patting the back of her hand gently.
Glancing at the remaining members of the family with each having their own thoughts, she said to them, "Liling will spend the night here along with Wenwen."
Just like they, the fate of the couple was sealed like a verdict from the Emperor.
Mr. Fang could only let out a long sigh while gazing at the smiling face of the little woman beside him.
\'She looks very happy.\' He observed before releasing another sigh.
